"PHP is ok as long as you’re happy with coding sites for seven 13 years old kids, you wanna do real corporate stuff the millions of people worldwide will look at daily , you learn the real programming ! ! !"

I started my programming career as a .net programmer. Later I wanted to learn php ( so many websites r running php--so i wanted to know what it is, why it is so popular)

I picked up php in about 15 to 20 days. At first, I didnt like php at all. No datatype(like C#), function oriented programming( i learned OOPS in php later)...i have not liked a bit...

But, for last 3 or 4 months, i love php so much dat I am not feeling like working on ASP.net for any of my projects.

Yes, PHP gives you d freedom...dat u ll never get in ASP.net

I respectfully disprove you Tim and Ranjit (jakub, you're not even worth
mentioning) on the following points:

"PHP encourages the use of mixing source code and logic with presentation"
Incorrect. PHP has the advantage of being as simple as a mere scripting language in the context of which you would mix the Controller and the View, but in the same time, should you wish a clear separation, PHP can be a fully fledged programming language in which there is a Model, a View, and a Controller. Guaranteed (read Zend Framework).

"The Visual Studio .NET IDE. makes coding much, much easier. It can highlight syntax, let you.."
I think you confused the programming language with the IDE it uses, Ranjit. I use PHPed and Zend Studio, which both have everything you mentioned as "features" of ASP for some reason.

Finally, I'm not an expert in ASP, but the said above (before me) tends to make me think that I made a good decision.

I am asp developer php is more secure and fast but asp have some advantage like threads and build asynchronous handlers and better designing tool.but i finally dont understand why asp is not straightforward for learning what is policy behind that

agree with jakub, sites such as Yahoo!, Facebook, Wikipedia, Flickr e.t.c were made by 13 year old scripty kids and no one really uses them. That's not even real programming. PHP FAIL ... /s

OK, fanboys of little and soft company, tell me then why php beats the hell out of asp.net when it comes to website market share? and "develop a super structered site in 24 hrs without internet connection (PURE CODE)" are you shitting me? No real programmer would say such a bullshit, and a real programmer always has 100% control over his handcoded application (talking about PHP here), however, little and soft company always tries to push everyone to "all things Visual", make everyone graphic button pushing morans, and when the problem occurs you can kill yourself digging in that completely messy inflated and confusing IDE generated code. You forget, that everything that you see around today originated from pure handcoding and no IDE will change it.

I cannot agree more Jakub! Learning a proper language is the best you can do.
